MTA Awarded Equipment Today's Top 50 New Product
The MTA Telehandler series has been awarded an Equipment Today's Top 50 New Product Award! The annual Contactors’ Top 50 New Products Award is designed to recognize the best new product introductions and enhancements throughout the construction industry.
We offers MTA telescopic handlers to meet specific demands of the North American construction market: MTA 642, MTA 842, MTA 1055, MTA 1242 and MTA 1255. These models feature a “SuperView '' Cab, redesigned Engine Accessibility, Automatic Transmission, Operator Aided Pop-Ups, EasyStep, Five-Speed Transmission and Automatic Parking Brake.
The MTA models start with the MTA 642 at 74 hp lifting 6,000 lbs. up to 42 ft., 6 in. high and go up to 127 hp on the MTA 1255 lifting 12,000 lbs. with a maximum lift height of 55 ft., 7 in. Two of the models — the MTA 842 and the MTA 1055 — feature a 74 hp or 127 hp option for customers.
The MTA cab has been revamped with 30% increased forward visibility thanks to the redesigned FOPS or “SuperView”. This design removes sightline obstructions and gives operators a clear perspective to the work area. It also includes a frame that retains the integrity of the cab but gives operators views to the load and attachment in use, even when placing materials stories up.
Machine access just became simplified with EasyStep. This step is cutout in the cab floor to allow entrance with reduced risk of slipping. It also provides a clear sightline down to the step for a safe and deliberate exit.
The MTA models feature perpendicular mounting of the engine to the driveline. This provides access to both sides of the engine to reach the fuel filters, starter, alternator, engine oil filter, engine oil fill and coolant reservoir. The load-sensing hydraulic system supports stable operation. This combined with the upgraded stabilization system allows for multiple movements at all boom levels to facilitate material alignment.
High capacity at forward outreach is available for all models, up to 3,500 lbs. at 42 ft., 3 in. on the MTA 1255. This is accomplished through a long wheelbase and the frame design, supporting overall stability to place materials deep into buildings. Ground clearance is also increased up to 19 in. and a curved engine hood helps with visibility down the right side.
Another feature is the automatic five-speed powershift transmission, which allows for smooth transition between gears, reaching speeds of 22 mph. Automatic mode allows new operators and those in rental to focus on performance without shifting gears. The operator can switch to manual mode with the push of a button if preferred.
An automatic parking brake has been added to prevent accidents, which will automatically apply when the machine is stopped for more than three seconds. The brake can be released with a switch or by use of the accelerator pedal.
The MTA models include an intelligent dashboard with an integrated pop-up information system, providing guided operation assistance. Over 57 messages help the operator understand proper machine use. Messages are available in English, Spanish and French. Plus all units are connected with the EasyManager telematics system to view real-time machine data, location and service or warning codes.
