What is a hand pallet truck?
A hand pallet truck is a small handling trolley equipped with two forks mounted on rollers. It is mainly used to move and store medium-weight pallets or loads (no more than 2 tonnes) a few centimetres off the ground.
This model of pallet truck assists a person pull a load while safely managing the weight. To operate the lifting device (located in the lower shield of the undercarriage), the operator uses the handle tiller located on the equipment.
The hand pallet truck does not offer a high lifting height (between 30 cm and 1 m depending on the model). Unlike the stacker, it is primarily suitable for ground handling and transporting pallets on prepared, non-slip floors. It also has a slope of less than 10%.
No special certification is required to use a hand pallet truck. However, it is important that you receive appropriate training to give you the necessary skills to avoid accidents and how to react if the tiller gets stuck or the wheels jam.
