Reduce Fuel
Your number 1 cost reduction opportunity.
Accounting for approximately one-third of your Total Cost of Ownership, your fuel consumption represents possibly your best cost reduction opportunity. As fuel prices become less predictable – and emissions reporting becomes more important – REDUCE Fuel provides you with clear, reliable data on the expected energy consumption and CO2 emissions of your machine.
Measurement methodology
The MANITOU Group became the first material handling equipment manufacturer to publish fuel consumption data, obtained from field tests based on UTAC-approved standards EP-695 and EP-1519. The protocol EP-695 now serves as the cornerstone for the European standard EN16796-4.
Our fuel calculator estimates your duty cycles (handling/loading/idling/driving) based on our real-life measurements. If you compare machines from different manufacturers, ensure that all measurements are based on the EN16796-4 standard to enable a valid comparison.
Reducing energy use and emissions
Efficient operation can make a significant difference to your TCO, while lower emissions reduce your environmental impact and also improve air quality – especially in cramped worksites.
Our operator training can improve productivity, fuel consumption efficiency and safety, while visual aids and fuel-efficient features are provided on our machines to reduce energy use and emissions.
Going electric for lower energy and maintenance costs
Manitou’s industry-leading range of hybrid and battery-only machines is changing the TCO equation: higher up-front prices counterbalanced by reduced energy and maintenance costs.
For example, our data shows that our battery-electric compact construction machine’s energy costs are as little as a quarter of a diesel machine’s, while maintenance costs have been halved.
Our electric range also meets the new requirements of urban low-emissions zones, while also reducing noise levels. Manitou will continue to develop more low-emission products and features to protect drivers, the environment and its employees.
